Two points of interest in this analysis from Ti. One is that, rather cheeringly, everyone is a bit happier and believe things are on the up. Even airfreight, according to the Stifel Logistics Confidence Index, has climbed into expansion territory above the 50 point mark – the first time since these records began. Meanwhile, the only tradelane weak spot is US to Europe, which lingers in the misery doldrums. Perhaps more interestingly though, for seafreight shippers (and lines), is Ti’s question of the month and 42% of respondents said they thought seafreight rates would fall further still, against 24% that said they had bottomed out. Worrying times for the lines.
