China's July factory activity unexpectedly dips on softer orders and flooding

Bad news from China. Manufacturing shrank in July, as demand dwindled and flooding affected output. Analysts are concerned that the trend could continue unless the government boosts spending. The PMI fell below 50 and analysts warn that GDP growth in the second half could be poor. Fiscal policy would be the key tool for boosting growth in coming months, they told Reuters.
