Chapman Freeborn has appointed Hendrik Falk (above) as senior vice president of cargo for the Americas.

He joins from Swiss WorldCargo, where he was head of cargo for US west, south and Latin America for nearly five years. Prior to that, he was vice president north and south America for AirBridgeCargo. He has also been vice president cargo sales for Global Aviation Holdings.

Born in Germany, Mr Falk spent the majority of his youth in the US. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in International Economics from UCLA, he began his 32-year career in the aviation industry at Lufthansa Cargo in Atlanta.

The new job comes at a difficult time for air charters, with substantial capacity having left the US market following the ban on Volga-Dnepr Group airlines in the US.

Chapman Freeborn, part of Avia Solutions Group, said his appointment was a “key new hire as part of a strategic expansion plans for the Americas”.

Neil Dursley, chief commercial officer, explained: “Hendrik will guide our team of experienced USA brokers to expand our service offering, grow our client base, and broaden presence throughout the region. I have every confidence that his wealth of industry experience and product knowledge will play a pivotal role in taking Chapman Freeborn Americas to the next level.”

Mr Falk added: “I am thrilled to become part of the Chapman Freeborn team – the company’s broad portfolio of services, its quality focus and reputation for excellence as well as its ambitious aspirations are just a few of the drivers that have motivated me to join the organisation at this dynamic time in the company’s development.”
