The UK should invest in “less sophisticated” manufacturing to ensure its supply chains are sustainable, the head of car-maker Bentley has said. He called on the government to boost training in fields such as mechatronics parts – a mix of engineering and electronics – which are not available in the UK. “The supply chain here in the UK is not … robust enough for the future. We definitely need to work on it.”
