Yes, times are tough. And yes, it must be hard for retailers and manufacturers to police factories in developing countries. But that has to be the price of cheap labour – establishing and ensuring some basic rights and standards for workers. Because it has happened again – more than 175 people died in Dhaka when a building housing several garment factories collapsed. Major brands which sourced from the factories include Joe Fresh, Primark and The Children’s Place.
