The UK is not alone in facing a driver shortage. Across the pond, projections suggest that if things stay as they are, the US could be facing a 174,000 haulier shortfall by 2026. This piece from Supply Chain 24/7 looks at American Trucking Association’s quarterly report on how the market is faring. Despite the driver shortage dropping from 45,000 to 36,500 between 2015 and 2016, the news is not bright: the number is set to hit 50,000 by the end of the year.
