The UK is not alone in facing a driver shortage. Across the pond, projections suggest that if things stay as they are, the US could be facing a 174,000 haulier shortfall by 2026. Despite the driver shortage dropping from 45,000 to 36,500 between 2015 and 2016, the news is not bright: the number is set to hit 50,000 by the end of the year.
